Contact your pharmacy and ask them to fax a refill request. Please allow 2 full business days for the request to be processed by Draelos Metabolic Center. We can only refill medications that have previously been prescribed by one of our providers. Medications prescribed by another physician are considered a new prescription and cannot be refilled outside of an office visit. Your refill request may be denied if you have not been seen by a provider in greater than 1 year, are significantly out of compliance with follow up visits or the provider needs to assess the medication further prior to authorizing a refill. In the case of a denied prescription refill you may make an appointment and a refill may be authorized at your provider's discretion in an amount that will last until your scheduled appointment.
Printed prescriptions provided to a patient and lost prior to being delivered to a pharmacy will incur a $10 charge for replacement
Traditionally there has been very poor insurance coverage for weight loss services. Some insurance companies are beginning to provide coverage for weight loss services and/or medications. This coverage may be approved only when very specific criteria are met or when provided by a primary care provider. Medicare has also approved coverage for weight loss services when provided by a primary care provider. The providers at Draelos Metabolic Center are credentialed with Medicare and private insurance companies as specialty providers and therefore not able to provide services when this criteria is specified. In other cases, if you feel that your insurance company will cover your weight loss services we ask that you contact your insurance company and obtain a written copy of the weight loss services provided by your policy and we will assess on an individual basis if your weight loss costs can be reduced by insurance coverage.
We perform and bill some laboratory tests in house, but the majority of tests performed are done through a LabCorp draw station available in our clinic. Laboratory tests performed by LabCorp are billed by LabCorp. It is the patient's responsibility to inform our staff if their insurance company requires use of a different laboratory service provider.
The staff at DMC takes your health very seriously. Communication with our patients is very important. We recognize that our phone system is extensive and that most calls will reach a voice mailbox. When you call we respectfully request that you leave a detailed message (including your name, and date of birth) to allow staff the opportunity to review your record, communicate with the provider and return your call prepared to assist you. If you have a medical emergency please dial 911 or seek immediate medical care. It may take several hours for your message to be received by one of our clinical staff when they are in clinic.
